Lovely article! How do you think the French Riviera compares with the Italian Riviera? I found the latter to be wonderfully romantic, but not at all cosmopolitan.

Although I haven't spent a lot of time on the Italian Riviera, I would agree with your assessment. The Italian Riviera seems to be more quaint villages (Cinque Terra, for example), while the French Riviera is more developed and, as you write, cosmopolitan.
