» Travelsleuth - Dining in Amsterdam

It is many years since I spent a short weekend break in Amsterdam and I did the museums, canal trip, cafe lounging and the red light district as you recommend. However it is the remarkable Indonesian restaurants that stick most vividly in my mind.

Thanks to their colonial history, the Dutch have some fantastic Indonesian restaurants - for the same reason as we in Britain boast many Indian and Hong Kong Chinese restaurants. but I prefer the Indonesian dishes.

Honestly, I don't remember a particularly interesting or fantastic dining experience in Amsterdam and am delighted to have a good suggestion for my next trip.
