London is always a pleasure to visit to discover new sites or revisit the traditional ones. Throughout the year the visitor will enjoy the museums, theatres and views.

The tourist offerings of the capital of England is second to none. There are probably too many places to visit, making it even more attractive because as Samuel Johnson said “the man who is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford”.

The London Eye

Book in advance to avoid disappointment because this is probably one of the most popular attractions in London due to the fabulous scenes it offers. Have cameras prepared for amazing pictures from its heights.

The Houses of Parliament and the Big Ben

One of the classic sights that never ceases to amaze the visitor. The building is still considered a royal palace and Henry VIII used it as residence until moving out in 1512 following a fire. The building was refurbished after the fire of 1834 and the bombings of 1941.

The Big Ben is the most famous landmark of London and its beauty is better appreciated at night when the illuminated clock faces do justice to this breathtaking construction.

Westminster Abbey: a burial site for kings and queens

Although used for religious services this temple is a fine museum. Kings and Queens are buried here and the poets’ corner is a reminder of the most influential writers in the kingdom. Some important authors are buried here although it was not intended as a burial place but a place for commemoration.

British Museum: a walk through History

Probably the best known museum in the world. Its immensity makes it necessary for visitors to organise their visit very carefully and consider taking two or three days to complete it thoroughly.

Museums and Art Galleries

London is awash with museums and art galleries for all tastes. Tourists are recommended to choose what they want to see to minimise the risk of wasting precious time.

Theatres: London's West End

No tour of London is complete without a visit to a theatre. London’s West End is a vibrant place for theatregoers with all genres and styles catered for.

Tower of London: castle and prison

This wonderful building is famous for being a royal residence, a prison and a place of execution. Henry VIII had two of his wives imprisoned here and both lost their heads. Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard are buried in the church of St Peter ad vincula. Nowadays the different buildings in the complex form a fine museum where the Jewels of the Crown are displayed.

Tower Bridge: more than a bridge

One of the most beautiful bridges in the world. It is most appreciated at night when it is illuminated. The views from the top of the towers compete directly with those from the London Eye.

St Paul’s Cathedral

A visit to the Cathedral of London is a must if the visitor wants to have more wonderful views of the city from the top of the building. It is very interesting for its architectural symbolism and the sentiment that it evokes in Londoners. It survived the German raids of WWII and became an inspirational symbol of British strength.

London for kids

The best places for the kids in town are the London Dungeon, the Aquarium, Madame Tussauds wax museum and the London Duck Tours where visitors get on an amphibious vehicle that, after a tour of the city, plunges into the waters of the Thames for a fantastic boat tour.
